Just a little word to support French skippers.
Go guys !
good job for the first races.
thanks for all the news by twitter and with official website for the results.
Well Done the race team. You have all done a fantastic job on the first day of this event. Tomorrow should be slightly easier as you all know what to do and are working well as a team.
GB sailors going great guns, local knowledge helping? Well done so far boys.
Which is the design to have : Britpop? Or will the wind get up for the Lintel of Robbie Walsh and he runs away with it! Will the Viper bite, I’d bet on it!
What’s happened to the Croatian lads?
Still, early days………….
I think the only thing that happened is the sort by position isn’t in order. The scoring system ties the sail number to the score very exactly. I noticed that there are a number of places where the order jumped around a bit but that the scores looked to be right for the position listed.
to the organisation team : thanks for the news
to french guys : Bravo Marc P.et Alexis. bien les gars, allez, rien n’est joué.
Pierrot, courage, Patrice, Marc A. rien n’est perdu.
Bye
Heh! Barry answer your phone Iv’e been calling for over 2 weeks just keep getting the machine which I have left a message 😦
on another note it seems the conditions suit the hard chine boats at the moment what’s happining with the Pikanto’s maybe when the winds die down a bit!
To the organisors, great job! The constant twitter feeds are a godsend to us here in lonely Australia. The pics and especially the videos, are absolutely fantastic, very professional. Ca think of no better advertisement for our sport.
Good luck to the Aussies ( Brad is an Aussie….) , hopefully the others can climb their way up the scoresheet.
Must say, I too am surprised that the Croats aren’t higher up, but it’s a long way to go yet.
Hi Patrick, it is Anne Walker here in the scoring room. Good to hear comments from Australia. Highly competitive racing here – great to watch, and score for. Regards to all in sunny Australia.
Great report’s, it’s making for interesting reading, would love to hear some more interview’s from some others, Graham, Pete and Brad have done well but they will never make main stream news anchors!! Graham I would have thought blue Cros’s were too main stream for your sense of fashion??
Hi to everyone enjoy playing with your toys I only hope the weather warms and the wid keeps blowing.
Congratulations on the website and the speed of updates and results
Not so happy about the late nights into the early mornings following the action.

RIGHT THEN!! Now we’ll see (after R16 and 4 discards) who’s most consistent should win? No more discards for another 8 races (’til R24). Any money for Graham Bantock provided it does not start blowing hard again!! ?? He’s moved from 15th to 6th overall
interesting to note that after 16 races both Peter and brad are split on points.
countback is interesting with 4 x 1st places each
3 x 2nd places each 2 x 3rds places each …peter finally nailed brad by having a 4th .
awesome racing and 2nd to none with the coverage…to all who put this world championship together hold your heads high. You may have just sealed my devorce as I’m spending the nights locked to the screan instead of bed….thanks guys ;-p

I think I am correct in saying that Martin Roberts, GBR 22, Lintel, is the only skipper not to have been demoted! Talk about consistency!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looking at the excellent photos from Huub, Damian and Vicky on Flickr, it seems that an awful lot of top 30 skippers are using BG sails (as I do and they’re excellent)
Resume of the reporting:
Quite excellently event with miraculous videos and photos! It gives pleasure to sail on the computer with the eyes with!

What a fantastic series – the way 39 and 45 have battled out over the last 3 days is a credit to our sport (and sportsmanship). Its a pity someone must come second
Just goes to prove that nice guys DO win! That’s true whether Brad or Peter won. On the day it was Peter. You could not wish to meet two nicer skippers.
Well done Peter!!
Very many congratulations to Peter – what a year for him!
What all the rest of us mere mortals now need to find out is just how he and Brad do it and then do it exactly the same way ourselves!
One of the competitors has remarked to me just now by phone that the sportsmanship displayed at this event between Peter and Brad was an example to all of us, so well done for that high standard too.
kind regards
Chris Durant
I wonder how many World championships skippers have had 6 race wins out of 25 and still lost!!!!
Bad luck Brad, but brilliantly sailed in a truly sportsmanlike way!
Congratulations to Peter on a magnificent win. Congratulations to all the other competitors who have contributed to such an enthralling competition, it has kept me on the edge of my seat all week. Such close sailing, such excellent competition. Finally congratulations to all the organisers and officials without whom this event could not have happened. Wonderful film of the event and Damian’s tweets almost made me feel I was there. Thanks and well done everybody.
Congrat’s Pete you’ve got done it this time!! Hat’s off ro you running the event and winning it thats a major effort.
To Brad that boats a rocket impressive result to have all 3 britpop’s in the top 3.
Good to see the local boys all right up there.
Might even have to think about finding myself a boat again.
Well done everyone enjoy the night.
lindsay&annie walker well done to both such a short time in this wonderful sport. build your own boat and compete at top level ballina boys are proud of you both.congrats to the winners the coverage was great.
I followed the competion day by day and watching the great video´s and pictures.
Unfortunately there are no video´s and pictures of day 6, anyhow congratulations to the winners and all good sailors, it was a pleasure to follow the competion from great distance and feeling so close to what happend!
I suspect that the delay is due to the presentation evening, this will no doubt be included in Day 6 or as an addition, plus unlike the other days everyone has to checkout of hotels, B&B’s spare rooms etc.
On another note I think that all the MYA volunteers, assisting skippers and West Kirby Sailing Club helpers deserve a massive thanks from us for their efforts in staging the event.
Give the organisers a chance for goodness sake, everything comes to he who waits…
I am sure it will be well worth waiting for, going by the previous videos I have watched over and over again………
Thank you to the video crew. Great job! I look forward to the last day video and I know that all of the Radio Sailing fans around the world are thankful for your efforts.
Just a few thankyous,
firstly to Peter for doing the lions share of the organising for a great competition. Glad we have learnt how to learn from previous events.
Secondly to Brad for designing and building the fastest IOM I have had the privelage to sail, the britPOP! Having sailed the boat for a few weeks before the race in all conditions from ‘Birkenhead pox’ to a howling North Sea gale I knew I was going into the race with ‘quite a fast boat’.
With the 3 boats making a clean sweep the, britPOP! is already influencing new boat design, what better compliment.
See you Wednesday.
I said earlier that the video of the last days racing would be worth waiting for, and it certainly was. Many thanks to ALL the people involved in this event, and making it a week to remember for a long time.
Well back home the German Team wants to say a big THANK YOU to all who worked for the event and to all skippers!!! It was a pleassure to sail at West Kirby, to meet all the people from all over the world and to see and to feel, what our sport can be.
Congratiulation again to you, Peter!
Less than 12 hours to go…
To all from the USA, Good Luck… Sail Fast and Have Fun..
For My Barbados Buddies, I send the Same. More better faster…May you find whats right with that Tony …….Go rabbit
What a finish ahead. Wishing good winds for the rest of the event. Excellent coverage and love the twitter feeds.
Keep it going Team USA, BAR,CAN. Finish Strong!!!
Good Sailing ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ _/)
USA #199
Good luck to all
Come on you Brit’s (and our adopted Aussie)
The midlands skippers are rooting for Tony “The Tiger” Edwards.
The Twitter updates are fantastic, thank you Damian.
I’m reading twiiter while watching the Grand Prix and I think the sailing has been more entertaining!
just reading on twitter race 3a with the top 4 guys leading to the first mark all the big names it must be fantastic to watch!
The news on Jeff Hills feet is not good!
Best of luck to the two Irish lads – John Morehead IRL 77 and Jeff Kay IRL 43.
We are eagerly awaiting the Video!!!!
good luck all!
Too the danisk people. Good luck. It looks good

Still, early days………….
looking at the pics, it looks as if the Viper (GBR 22) has turned into a Lintel :o)
Well spotted
Looking also that the Sega (DEN 52) has turned into a Lintel too!
Where is the video live ??????
Where is youtube links ??????
Where is Brasil, Chile, Argentina, France flags???????
no live video.
all pics, video etc. = https://iomworlds2011.wordpress.com/media-centre/
Congratulations to all the organisers and officials and thanks to Damian for the tweets. It is very interesting to be able to follow the racing.
The video was fantastic!!! Keep up the great work!
shame the viper designer was not told the boat was not sailing
can we get the right designs listed for the skippers, ned 99 is not an obsession, gbr72 is not an isis
72 – Obsession
99 – Ace
Nice Job USA 29 !!! Hello A fleet!
Mark
NED 99 is an Obsession built as by Huub with the prior approval of Craig Smith. Huub actually also has a fantastic timber Obsession.
But AUS 138 doesn’t look much like a Pikanto….
Because it is a Widget
We are feeding all design changes into the scoring team to appear on score sheets.
pics of ned88 is not an obsession
NED 99 should be an ACE
new boat build by Huub.
Look at the DIOMCA forum,
bouwtechniek, ace syndicate
Twitter feed is very good and the video summary of the day was great. Keep it coming!
Twitter are fantastic, thank you Damian
A big “ciao” to : Massimiliano Apostoli, Mike Clifton, Gibbo, Graham Elliot.
meant ned99
of course, 88 FRA is a Shark …
Is Ken Binks (83) sailing an Isis2 or his new Psycho?
We believe it to be an ISIS2. But we will check.
Hi Damian, Jelacic score and position is showing incorrectly after Race 7. Keep up the gr8 work mate!
I think the only thing that happened is the sort by position isn’t in order. The scoring system ties the sail number to the score very exactly. I noticed that there are a number of places where the order jumped around a bit but that the scores looked to be right for the position listed.
Thanks John
The scoring team noticed this after we had uploaded the scores
Points are right just not sorted
Once more a big thanks for keeping all the web – spectators happy and so quickly responding to comments and reacting on feedback
BritPOPs 1, 2 and 3 😀
Well, its all those guys sailing in their home pond too 😉 Not to mention they are pretty damn good skippers !
Ken Binks GBR 83 is sailing a Psycho.
Well done all inolved with the video and featuring Wodspring’s very own Sarah Conner. Look out Kate Adie.
Many thanks Barry, some one next to me just said “an ISIS with chines”
Just driven up from Poole to the Midlands, 4 hrs in the car non stop, what did I miss?
Hello,
I would like to send all good luck to the German Team. And thank you to the organization team for keeping us up to date all the time, it is great.
to the organisation team : thanks for the news
to french guys : Bravo Marc P.et Alexis. bien les gars, allez, rien n’est joué.
Pierrot, courage, Patrice, Marc A. rien n’est perdu.
Bye
Graham Elliot looks mighty studly in those Crocs & Socks! Don’t change em now Graham, you’re sailing too good!
Heh! Barry answer your phone Iv’e been calling for over 2 weeks just keep getting the machine which I have left a message 😦
on another note it seems the conditions suit the hard chine boats at the moment what’s happining with the Pikanto’s maybe when the winds die down a bit!
Tony G, if thats me you are trying to get theres no messages on my machine just a couple of hang ups with no message.
Good to see the close racing and an Aussie on top so far! The Britpop! must be a flyer with the right people on the tiller!
To the organisors, great job! The constant twitter feeds are a godsend to us here in lonely Australia. The pics and especially the videos, are absolutely fantastic, very professional. Ca think of no better advertisement for our sport.

Looks like Alexis Carre FRA 73 will jump Jeff Byerley after next discard or 2?
…..and Ian Vickers????????
see Graham Bantock and Zonko Jelacic creeping up the board !!
Well done Graham. Nice to see the Eastern District up there. Keep up the good work, there’s still a long way to go.
Montero FRA 38 has got his mojo going! Just sailed from E to D to C! Can he make it to B…… or A???????????/
He’s in 64th overall atmo……………!!!!!!!!!!!!
Didn’t get into A fleet but result jumped him 5 places to 59th!
Race 16 is the biggy, after this not sure they will get to Race 24 for another discard.
I believe that Mackey is a Lintel not a Patriot
WOW! Jeff Byerley dropped down into C fleet, back up to B now. Can he get back to A?
NO!!

Reckon that’s close of play til tomorrow……….
That result from 16a might shake the top 6 up a bit!!!!!! with 39 and 42 dropping to B fleet………………….

Just heard on the weather forecast that today is going to be the hottest of the year so far. Graham will need to keep his Crocks on………
Go Brad, Im not biased but we all know you can do it, dads on your shoulder but dont let him tell you which way to go.
A big thumbs up to the video team!! The short summaries of the day are ace.
Is it possible before the event ends for a list of the sailmaker each skipper is using to be published ?
Looking at the excellent photos from Huub, Damian and Vicky on Flickr, it seems that an awful lot of top 30 skippers are using BG sails (as I do and they’re excellent)
found myself laughing whilst watching the Day 4 video. Take note of Gibbo and Elliott during Martins interview… “the Likely lads “!
Resume of the reporting:
Quite excellently event with miraculous videos and photos! It gives pleasure to sail on the computer with the eyes with!
Greeting to Max, Jens, Carsten and Michael and all the others from Bremen

Goodluck to everyone at the last day of the worlds, in particular the top 5 skippers.
That the best and fairest sailor may win the event.
Good Luck to all on the last day. It has been a pleasure following all the action from Malta and what a supberb event.
Thanks also to the video team, without whom it would not have felt like we were there.
I think R22 and R23 results have done for Martin Roberts hopes, but deserves a podium at least IMO
I reckon Ian Vickers will jump Carre and Jelacic after R24 (4 discards)
and maybe Graham Bantock as well into 5th??

tactical sailing going on between 39 and 42 in R24!!!!!!!!!?????????????
anyone else clicking the refresh button every 10 seconds??
I almost wore out the refresh button.
Short of live video this is a fantastic way to cover an event. I sure hope they covered that race with a video, and the next one as well.
Yes I agree. Next big improvement would be “live” video ideally from a boat with a professional skipper taking video.
I would be prepared to pay to view such a broadcast. Maybe if enough viewers who agree would pay the cost of doing this then they might do it.
My mouse is red hot now and working overtime ……………….
Anyone know final race deadline? I reckon they’ll struggle to get 2 races in now.
4th June
Final Racing Day (09.00 until 16.30hr)

What a fantastic series – the way 39 and 45 have battled out over the last 3 days is a credit to our sport (and sportsmanship). Its a pity someone must come second
I don’t mind who wins now! 39 and 42 have sailed brilliantly (as have others) and entertained us right to the last heat, beat and race
wouldn’t it be fantastic with 55 pts each if they dead heated in the last race!
congratulation Peter.. awesome effort !
Brad, my thoughts are with you mate.
Just goes to prove that nice guys DO win! That’s true whether Brad or Peter won. On the day it was Peter. You could not wish to meet two nicer skippers.
Well done Peter!!
correct John. Its allways been a pleasure knowing both
Thanks everyone it was fantastic to be able to follow this. Congratulations for a job well done.
Peter Stollery…at last.
Congratulations
Well done Peter, great performance.
I hope the video team were able to capture this last race. If so it will cap a great week for them.
Brad, not to be but you are still a winner in our eyes we are proud of you, family at home.
Congrats to Peter Stollery and the rest of the competitors, committee, and staff at West Kirby for a brilliant Worlds!
It has been a pleasure to follow along from the US and a privledge to be a sponsor.
Cheers All!

I sure hope someone has a video of the last race.
I would love to see the comeback that Peter made.

Video From day 6. ????????????????????????????
Hi Lars
We will be putting the link to the last days video up on the site late Monday once Apfie has finished editing.
Well done to all.
Give the organisers a chance for goodness sake, everything comes to he who waits…
I am sure it will be well worth waiting for, going by the previous videos I have watched over and over again………
Thanks to all that provided the recaps and scoresheet updates. What a great presentation of our sport.
Thank you to the video crew. Great job! I look forward to the last day video and I know that all of the Radio Sailing fans around the world are thankful for your efforts.
Thanks for that last day video with great coverage of the last and deciding race.
Well done the whole video crew and thanks again.
